    “but I don’t buy new parts for my washing machine, I just buy a new washing machine.”

    I assume after you said this you realized how unsustainable it is… how long can we afford to consume and discard a whole washing machine if just one plastic part is missing…

    I’m not a sustainability nut, as Roo can attest, but the more you think about it, the more 3d “printing” makes sense. No volume production, no shipping thousands of spare parts around the globe just in case they are needed, no stocking the parts in redundant buildings just in case people order the part rather than buy a new machine…
